Role: Senior Project Engineer
Sector: District Energy, Sustainable Urban Infrastructure
I worked as Senior Project Engineer on the Potsdamer Platz District Energy Heating and Cooling Plant, supporting the delivery and operation of a critical urban energy infrastructure serving one of Berlin’s most prominent mixed-use districts.
My role covered technical and engineering leadership across design development, construction, system installation, testing, and commissioning of centralised heating and cooling systems. I was responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering inputs, ensuring compliance with German regulations, environmental standards, and client performance requirements.
A key focus of the role was the integration and optimisation of energy systems, including chillers, boilers, thermal storage, pumping systems, and control interfaces, to ensure reliable, efficient, and resilient operation. I worked closely with contractors, vendors, and operators to manage technical risks, resolve on-site challenges, and maintain quality throughout execution.
I also supported commissioning, performance validation, and handover to operations, ensuring the plant achieved its design capacity, efficiency targets, and long-term operational reliability. The project was delivered with a strong emphasis on sustainability, energy efficiency, and continuity of supply, supporting the district’s commercial, residential, and public facilities.
