Role: Project Manager – Smart Building Systems
Sector: Smart Buildings, Large-Scale Public & Event Infrastructure
I served as Project Manager for Smart Building Systems on the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), a landmark large-scale public venue designed to support international exhibitions, conferences, and high-profile events.
My role focused on the planning, delivery, and integration of smart building and ICT systems across the facility, ensuring seamless coordination between architectural, MEP, and digital infrastructure. I managed the delivery of BMS, ICT, security, access control, CCTV, AV, structured cabling, and smart monitoring platforms, aligning system performance with operational and user requirements.
A key responsibility was systems integration and interoperability, ensuring that building automation, life-safety, energy management, and user-facing technologies operated as a unified smart ecosystem. I worked closely with designers, system vendors, contractors, and the client to manage interfaces, resolve technical challenges, and maintain programme and quality objectives.
I also led testing, commissioning, and handover activities, ensuring all smart systems were fully validated, operationally ready, and supported by complete documentation and operator training. The project was delivered with a strong emphasis on reliability, cybersecurity, operational efficiency, and user experience, supporting the successful operation of a high-profile international convention venue.
